Get the Kick it into high gearmug. Un undeserved "promotion" given to a mediocre manager for the sole purpose of removing them from an important position. Often involves getting moved to a new or largely inconsequential role with little responsibility. Commonly given to well-connected white men who cannot be fired without some sort of consequence.
