The true male equivalent of a wine mom. Teaches their son to throw. Interrogates their daughter's date. No shenanigans get by him, not in this household. Probably has a moustache and tells bad jokes for his own amusement. Not mad, just disappointed.

It is an idiom originating from the old West that refers to a person or thing stubbornly determined to do something.

The phrase was likely derived from moonshine runners in the past, who despite facing increasingly dangerous odds, were still “whiskey bent” on delivering – and drinking – their illicit products.
