people who believe, for health reasons, that eating American-sized portions of meat contributes to heart disease and other disgusting ways to die

... and/or

people who believe, for moral reasons, that we should not eat other living things with brains and nervous systems

... not to be confused for people who claim that we were "designed" to eat only vegetables (and by the way, not all vegetables have cellulose, you big fat poser), or people who "kill plants" (even if eating plants were morally wrong on any level, at the very least, vegetarians - even part-time ones - are less murderous than full-time meateaters)

vegetarian

A non-meat eater. Chooses not to eat meat for various reasons. Not to be confused with vegan. May still eat eggs, cheese, chocolate, and drink milk. Usually doesn't wear leather. Most vegetarians accept that not everyone is a vegetarian like them, and most accept others eating meat.

Even though I am a vegetarian, I don't down other people for eating meat.

Jean: Thanks for the meatless food.
Hunter: OMG, you are a vegetarian. I am still going to eat

meat.
Jean: Okay.
Hunter: Okay? You must be a broken vegetarian. You

aren't even going to tell me that you hate me or

preach to me to not eat meat?
Jean: Nope. It's your choice to eat meat. I'm not going to

try to sway your decision.

Hunter: Okay. Good.

pesco-vegetarian

A term used to describe the eating patterns of an individual who is not an ovo or lacto vegetarian, but does restrict the intake of certain meats. They do not consume red meat or poultry, but will consume fish or seafood. The term is used to describe a diet, not necessarily a moral decision.

Sally thought eating red meat was unhealthy, so the only meat she will eat is fish; therefore Sally is a Pesco-vegetarian.
