A deadbeat dan is a father figure, usually suffering from an addiction or substance abuse( drugs or alcohol). Can or will have multiple offspring from different parents, with out ever being married. Is typically a toxic person, and thinks very highly of themselves, but has little life accomplishments to speak of.

He never apologizes. Rarely follows through on promises. Incredibly cheap except when it comes to him.
