This is a phrase based on the iconic Doofenshmirtz phrase, "Wow, if I had a nickel for the every time I was doomed by a puppet, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?" The phrase is not only a shortening of the phrase, but makes it easy to add to a conversation without jumpcutting to "haha funny reference".

Dude, this girl fell in love with me, dumped me, forgot she dated me, fell in love with me again, and dumped me AGAIN! Sigh, you know what they say about nickels and strange occurences...

This Toronto saying is ripped right from Jamaican Patois and also the Bible. It is short for, “Truthfully I say to you.”
It’s often used at the start of a sentence to mean “I am telling the truth.”

Example 1:

Kendall: Yo dawg, remember how you had that party last Sunday? Was my girl there?
Mischka: True say, the party was too lit. I wasn’t even looking out for anyone. My fault bro.

Tony: Are the shoes gonna be ready soon? I have a game Friday.

An act of getting a new phone and shoving it to your friends.

People usually use it in a short term form of "h" which means "hi" and by that you mean that the new phone is greeted here in the friend group.
If the friends dont like the phone they will say "I HATE THIS STUPID PHONE YOU GOT"
