An exclusively Southern phrase that describes good common sense. Almost always used in the the negative form to describe an action that is silly, or lacking common sense. As in "any decent grits" or more often "no decent grits".

Me: I sent another text to the wrong person, AGAIN! I hate this phone!

K: Girl! Don't blame your phone, you ain't got no decent grits sometimes.

A southern-slang term meaning "poke your tongue in your cheek and grit your teeth" or "bite your tongue". Most often used as a way of saying there's no food.

"The fridge is empty, looks like we're having poke and grit."

1.)A light dispersion of hair located directly above the lips. Generally found on kids hitting puberty or girls that won't accept the fact that they need to shave their face.

Look at that queer's grit-stache, he looks like he just gave Taylor a rim job.
