A term coined among theater kids, a backstage boyfriend is the male counterpart in a (sometimes romantic) relationship between two actors or crew members that goes on strictly during production time. The backstage boyfriend is often seen alongside his female counterpart during rehearsals, intermissions, and cast parties; attached at the hip. This kind of relationship usually ends after the show closes and may resume during the next. The rest of the cast and crew can see that there is something going on between the two, but they often strictly deny it.
Friend 1: dude, what is going on with those two? Are they together or something?
Friend 2: Nah, that’s just her backstage boyfriend. It’s nothing serious.

The guy who now tries to sound smart every moment of his life, sends urban dictionary definitions that are low-key calling you out, and you realise why it’s better off this way :D
