The phrase started when a child in the school Maplewood Middle school got a buzz cut so bad people started giving others $20 and paying for them to get a buzz cut. It got so bad that it has since spread to other schools in the district, as well as more schools in New Jersey.

Hym "Ok. Easy. It's 20% because the way they are in Lgbtq+ is in abstraction. So, the number is inflated by non-binary and the more abstract versions of lgbtq. So, if you subtract all of the people who are lgbtq in abstraction, you probably have close to the same number it's always been.
