wampuh.

An exclamation used to indicate when one has tried to be witty but has failed horribly (especially when intoxicated). Often used in those awkward silences after someone has tried to use a witicism among a group of friends. One may use "wampuh" against a friend or one may use it on themself upon realizing their failure at impressing others with what could have been scathing wit.

girl: "It's hot in here. Dayumm."
guy: "wampuh."
girl: "...?"
guy: (two hours later) "Wow. I sent that thinking I would impress you (mind you, I'm stoned) but now I realize how moronic that sounded. Hah."

guy1: "Your mom."
girl2: "wow. Wampuh."

wapus cat

A fictious animal made up to scare people who are not very outdoors savy, such as women in general, yankees, retards, small children. Wapus cats are said to be three times the size of normal cats and live in the tops of tall pine trees. Their sole mission in life is to jump down on unsuspecting people in the woods at night and beat the hell out of them and leave as fast as they came.

Hey Pam you better watch out for the Wapus cat, I hear they go for the blondes first.

A term popular with snowboarders, skater, skiers and other outdoor athletes in the Pacific Northwest to describe a session that was so awesome and indefinably gnarly that the athlete themselves cannot recount the adventure fully in words (and is likely just happy to still be alive).

Brauj 1: How was your backcountry ski trip? I heard there was an avalanche up there.
