You dont get sick from peer pressure, you get sick from pathogens. You dont go to the doctor because of peer pressure, you go because you are sick. Wearing a mask is no different. You dont decide whether to wear a mask because of peer pressure, you decide to wear a mask or not wear one based on whether you're sick.
Peer pressure doesn't change whether someone is sick or not, therefore it should never influence what someone wears on their face or head.

Wortplay on the scientific standard of peer review. When you're friend approve of someone or something.
I know this guy/girl is showing some serious red flags. But for now I'll cut him/her some slack, because he/she is peer approved.
