gear head 

A musician (most common in guitarists and drummers) who spends more time reading about and buying gear than they actually spend playing music. Gear heads think that by spitting out a flood of brand names and model numbers to their friends that they will sound more intelligent than they actually are. Also, they hope their new equipment will compensate for their lack of practice. Truthfully it shows they spend too much time on the toilet reading "Musicians Friend".

Gear Down 

To relax, or to calm down; usually used as the "last word" in a conversation; usually used to take the tension out of a situation, causing each person to smile and realize they are being an idiot.

Examples of usage:
Example #1:

Jonathan: "Sarah, what did you do with my bib shorts? I told you I needed them for today's ride!"
Sarah: "Gear down, they're in the dryer."

Example #2:
Guy #1: "What's up with your outfit? Did you get dressed in the dark?"
Guy #2: "Gear down."

1) Someone who is blind/ retarded enough to find the game "Gears of War" enjoiyable.

2) One who believes that steroid enduced, boring, two-dimensional characters and horrible story-development is good writing.

Gear-nigger 

In World of Warcraft, slang for player characters of the Gnome race. Etymologically, it uses the "(habitat)-nigger" formula, a la sand-nigger. Can be abbreviated as "gnigger", pronounced as per the base slur with a silent g.

gear boggles 

originally a product response to the blank look left on the face of wearers of a Samsung GearVR virtual reality headset. Gear Boggles (www.gearboggles.com) are entertaining faceplate stickers. Now broadly applied to any faceplate sticker used on a virtual reality headset. Inspired by the term: Beer Goggles.

Bob looked stupid wearing that VR headset until he got those Gear Boggles. I like the cat eyes best.
