Abbey Boy

An abbey boy, as Mr. Bill Crittenberger once said, is a person who gives back into his community more than he takes from it. To clarify further, a community includes both the domestic community of the student and their school which is thought of as a second home for them. The components of being an abbey boy include working vigorously, studying even more vigorously, having a passion for extracurricular activities only surpassed by their passion for learning, and living,working, and praying with the monks daily in order to become closer to God, learn more about our plane of existence, and to depart on a challenging journey to find the reasons of why things happen. Each abbey boy's personal definition changes much over time too though, starting at being a bright boy, and eventually sprouting into being an exceptional young man, making going to St. Anselm's Abbey School one of the most transformative experiences known to man.

That boy is so courteous; he gave me his seat on the Metro, almost as courteous as an abbey boy.

St. Albans student: Would you like to go to prom with me?
NCS student: Do you go to St. Anselms Abbey School?
St. Albans student: No
NCS student: Sorry, I'm holding out for an abbey boy.

Abbey and Landon

Abbey is the most wonderful and sweet girl you will ever meet. She is truly a gift from god, and she will always be kindhearted. She and Landon and made for each other. Landon is a cute, flirty, down to earth kind of guy. Abbey is a sweet, caring, loving soul. Landon and Abbey will always care for each other regardless of their distance. Overall, they are an awesome power couple, that will love and cherish each other for eternity.

Downtown Abbey

When people mistakenly refer to the British drama series "Downton Abbey" as "Downtown Abbey". These are usually people who have never watched the series but want to have something to talk about to their smart/posh friends who like that kind of stuff, often in a bid to "fit in" or be perceived as normal in a certain environment. Easy giveaway when they claim to be an avid fan of it, yet can't even say it properly. Completely unaware of their mistake yet nobody mentions this to them as it becomes an inside joke whenever they say it.

Person A: hey everyone, did you watch the last episode of Downtown Abbey? I loved their portrayal of the Elizabethan era!
Person B: *whispers to Person C* now we know this guy is not really a fan of the show. Plus it's actually set in the Victorian era.

Person C: I know right! Let's just play along though, for fun.
