Bi In Practice

A gay individual who is affected by comphet to the degree they still have sex with the opposite sex for a variety of reasons (ie. attention, validation, survival, sex work, etc).

They are not attracted to the opposite sex, but rather, are attracted to being wanted, validated, or surviving under the banner of heteronormativity. They may have sex and engage in relationships for survival or work as well.

She’s having sex with male clients because they pay well even though she’s a lesbian. She’s bi in practice.

She’s just bi in practice. She’s not into him, she’s into him wanting and validating her.

Gold Star Bi

A term in the same vein of Gold Star Gay (a gay man who's never had sex with a woman) and Platinum Star Gay (Gold Star Gay born via cesarean section) and Gold Star Lesbian (lesbian who's never had sex with a man). This 'Star System' is inherently harmful and transphobic. However, calling oneself a Gold Star Bi is simply a way to subvert the purity politics of the system and affirm oneself as a Bi person without any exclusive criteria. First used in a comment on a Reddit post by a now deleted account.

"I'm a gold star bi. The gold star has nothing to do with bisexuality, I've just been good and decided to give myself one :) You can have one too ⭐️"
