person who uses a piece of bubblegum or other similar substance at the end of a string thats then tied to a stick and used to "fish" out dropped items that have fallen through sidewalk grates used to vent buildings and subways

Homeless people in NYC often take on the role of bubblegum fisherman. Particularly in winter when warm drafts waft up to the street and warm them up. Plenty of gum and discarded trash all over NYC so the materials are free.

Bubble Bouncer

A person that you rely on to keep you happy. You can't live without them for more than a two week period before you start getting irritable and cranky. You start feeling out of place and or really crowded and overwhelmed by other people in your life that are not your bubble bouncer. This person can be a family member, friend, spouse, or boyfriend/girlfriend.

"Why are you being so pissy? Is it that time of the month?"
"No I just need to see my Bubble Bouncer"
