Having a life total of 8 or lower in a Magic The Gathering game. Alternatively, a player with 6 or more poison counters is also considered to be in the Crunch Zone.

"My new U/G Infect deck is so sick, it puts you in the Crunch Zone by turn 4 max."

Person 1: "At that point I just started holding onto counters and hoping for some sick topdeck."
Person 2: "The Crunch Zone?"
Person 1: "The Crunch Zone."
