Digital Slavery

A term for the condition of being bound to digital platforms for essential services—work, communication, commerce, social life—under terms entirely controlled by platform owners. Digital slavery is not physical bondage but functional: you cannot opt out without losing access to the infrastructure of modern life. Your ability to work depends on a rating you cannot contest; your social life depends on a platform that can delete your account; your access to news depends on an algorithm you cannot see. Freedom is reduced to choosing which master to serve.

Digital Slavery Example: "She wanted to leave the platform, but her professional network, her banking, and her housing all required it—digital slavery, choice without exit."

Hyper-slavery of Results

A form of hyper‑slavery focused solely and exclusively on measurable outcomes, where the worker is valued only for their capacity to produce results (output, metrics, deliverables) while every other dimension of their existence—health, time, dignity, relationships—is treated as irrelevant or as an obstacle to be minimized. It is hyper‑slavery because the extraction is total, but it operates through performance metrics rather than direct coercion. Workers are trapped not by chains but by algorithms that track output, platforms that rate productivity, and economic precarity that makes any failure to produce results a threat to survival. The “results” themselves are often arbitrary, subject to goalpost‑moving, and designed to be just out of reach.

Hyper-slavery of Results Example: “The gig platform measured her every second—delivery time, customer rating, acceptance rate—and if any metric slipped, she was deactivated. Hyper‑slavery of results: her whole existence reduced to numbers she could never fully control.”

Mafia slave

A victum of racketeering fraud. Trafficing of victums by Mafia and or police services.

A Mafia slave maybe unaware that they are in a trafficking situation. A friend, relative or coworker will act as a "handler" and 'contact'. The handlers job is to make sure that the targeted individual is in the right place at the right time to create the appearance that they are "working". The handler may actually be the Mafia contact who signs contracts and payment or that may be a different position in a larger trafficking ring.

Mafia slaves often turn up dead, for failure to provide contractual obligations or so that the trafficking ring can avoid detection. This is also considered a form of payroll fraud or " ghost labour force"
