Truck stop

This can range from anything from a simple roadside diner to a mega-gas station. Usually located in rural areas and referred to by locals as the best place to get a decent cup of coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. A good truck stop not only offers coffee or meals, but also a great place that sells souvenirs and trinkets of the local area. Some even offer internet access and showers. Seedier truck stops offer lot lizards (prostitutes) as well.

Gawd, this truck stop has the best, creamiest coffee!

The act of slowing down but not fully stopping while driving. Applies mostly to right hand turns at stopsigns.

Sarah got a ticket for making a California stop when turning right at the intersection.

The absolutely most despicable convenience store that has ever existed. Common hangout for the lowest scum of Sacramento. People that come here think they can treat cashiers like dirt.

"Hey! Let's go to Quik Stop and piss off the cashier!"

When hiking, stopping only to let those behind you to catch up and then quickly continuing without letting them rest.

The hike was great, but I am really tired because Colin's friends kept pulling these asshole stops on me.

A pit stop for the sole purpose of puking.

Driver: "Don't you dare puke all over my car! I'm pulling over!"

snow stop

the choice to not come to a complete stop at a stop sign to avoid skidding and for fear of spinning one's wheels on snow and/or ice while trying to move forward again.

similar to a rolling stop.

Man, that cop didn't appreciate my snow stop.

Thank goodness I did a snow stop on that hill. There was no way I was going to get going again.
