A character in JK Rowling's Harry Potter. He is introduced in the Prisoner of Azkaban as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and is seen again in the Order of the Phoenix.
Remus was bitten by Fenrir Greyback as a young child which resulted in him becoming a werewolf. He went to Hogwarts school (after special measures were taken by Albus Dumbledore), and became best friends with Sirius Black, James Potter and Peter Pettigrew.

The two die in the final battle against Voldemort, leaving their child with Tonks' mother and to be Harry's godson.
