The Oasis Effect describes the phenomena in modern music where popular music has plummeted in quality so much, that acts that were only mediocre in the past, are comparatively superb.

"I just got excited to find Wonderwall on a radio station. What the fuck is going on!?"

Oasis

The act of unrolling a whole roll of toilet paper into a toilet to create an object resembling a mound, followed by defecating on top of the mound. Usually not followed by flushing, but left for the person who next uses the restroom.

Person: I just left a nice oasis in that bathroom for whoever comes in next!

Oasis

The most amazing, revolutionary band to ever exist. Started out with Liam Gllagher as the frontman. But due to the lack of success of the band, Liam's brother, Noel Gallagher, joined the group and took full control of it. Their debut album Definitely Maybe enjoyed much commercial success. Their sophome album, Whats the story? Morning Glory establishes, them as one of the greatest bands in the world. The album became the second most selling album in British music history.

Liam's unique voice and Noel's incredible songwriting skills have made Oasis what they are.
