A sadistic game perpetrated on a young son by his drunken father. The object is to get the toe-holdee to to say things like you are my master, you are The King and I am your servant. All of these are done under duress since the toe holder is causing extreme pain. Fortunately, after many chances, the lesson was learned. The ultimate victory is when the stubborn teacher of the game will not relent and gets a broken big toe!
Oh no here comes dad, drunk again! I bet he doesn't play the Chinese toe hold game again! Beat that Peckerwood at his own game I did!

“hold my stuff”, but this definition can only be used when you need both hands to rack gear or throw hands. only allowed to be used when in a group of your favourite people, because no one will understand otherwise
vic: “HOLD MY POODLE (aka HOLD MY POOD)”
abbey: *holds Vic’s stuff (aka gear, handbag, drink etc.)
everyone: *laughs

A phrase meaning "I will assist but not actively participate." This is derived from a period where apprentices would hold a candle for their master to work. Related to the phrase "couldn't hold a candle", when a person is being described as being so inadequate that they were not fit to assist.
John: "The engine is shot. I'll have to take the whole thing apart to figure it out."
Melissa: "I'll hold the candle."
Melissa: "I'll hold the candle."
