An insult to use against people who call you out on being hurtful, unfair or cruel. Helps to deflect from your crappy behavior. Implies they are definitely only
trying to make themselves look better.

Example:
A: "You really shouldn't have called Jim the n-word. He seems to be very upset, even hurt now."
B: "Oh come on, what, suddenly you're all woke now? Stop being so self-righteous. You think you're better than me?"

Example:
A: "Could you please not constantly make fun of women and imply women are stupid, when you're in the office? This is the workplace. We cannot concentrate on work when we have to listen to these mean comments. It brings back lots of personal painful memories, Sheryl always starts shaking and thinking about how her exhusband mistreated her and she cannot work."
B: "Haha, don't bother me with that woke BS. Words can't hurt you. Get over it."

When gay people exist, apparently. This word is mostly used by people on the right side of the political spectrum to describe anything they disagree with. Gun control, critical race theory, climate change activists, and most famously, LGBTQ+ individuals or things.
