They're dimwits. Students from high school who were poor academics, went on to college undecided and lazily chose criminal justice to graduate on time. Sociopathic behavior, self righteous, and all too easily brainwashed.
They are chasing their own tails cause they don't truly know theirnleaders are the true sources of evil. They chase criminals because they are criminally minded themselves. They are envious that criminals get away with crimes, meaning they wish deep down they could get away with criminal acts, which is why they do. Eventually become criminals themselves.
They are drenched in dark energies all day. They are losers who upon joining a gang, feel loved and accepted. Their weapon, badges, uniform, give them an ego boost. They see themselves as demigods whereas in life, they are simply losers. So they join a gang to feel power over another being. It satisfies them.
They do good cause that's their job, not cause they're any good themselves. No gos annointed them as more upright or righteous than another person. The laws they uphold are written by a bunch of criminals themselves.
They won't admit to this because they haven't dissected themselves this psychologically deep.

Police are brainwashed, they can't think for themselves because they have already given their minds over to be governed. If they were true truthseekers they'd be deep into alternative critical thinking theories.
