pat's law

Pat's law is simply this, when conducting a project, it is alway the last thing that goes wrong. and on this last miniscule task, you always spend 60% or more of your time on it. Making the last item in a string of items the last possible screw up. This also leads to PAT'S SYNDROME

"You have to drill five holes, the first four were easy and no problems occured. The last hole your drill bit breaks, you replace the bit, and then your battery goes dead. you replace the battery and the motor burns out." this is pat's law

Pat's Parade

An excessive celebration thrown over the achievement of an unearned goal obtained by false means that only a minority of the population accept as legitimate

Example 1: After being down by 20 points during a pickup basketball game, the person announced "this point wins the game!" After said announcement, the person charged at the hoop, sank a layup, and roared in "victory". He then marched around the gym like a bafoon while everyone in the gym watched his Pat's Parade in disgust.
Example 2: After Judge Berman allowed Brady to escape his, what seemed at the time to be, his inevitable punishment, Patriots fans joined together in mass unison in to form a Pat's Parade that rivaled the gathering in Jonestown. If only it had the same result.

Oh, Pat Sajak

A nearly all-purpose reaction for a plethora of situations. Similar to "Oh my gosh" or "good grief" or "wow". It is customary for one utterance to be followed by at least an echo or two.

It was a popular expression in the eighties and seems to be making a comeback, just like disco.

David: "I wonder what would happen if I wrote 'extortion' in the memo field of a check."
Jenny: "Haha! Oh, Pat Sajak."

David: "Oh Pat Sajak."
