Holding Space 

Typically used in queer media, Holding space is used when you feel power in something and really need to hold space with that.
person 1: "hey man i just saw Wicked and im taking the lyrics of Defying Gravity and really holding space with that" person 2: "uh, i didnt know that was happening, thats...what i wanted. thats really powerful"

It's a term used in recovery circles. It's just listening to someone share without daydreaming, interrupting, or offering advice. You know, actually paying attention. Not folding laundry.

The subject matter is likely of a serious nature which is why it wants to be heard in a serious manner. It's just symmetry between talking and listening.
