This very much is a mirror of what is going on around me.

Hym "What the people around me doing seem to understand is this (the manner in which they are speaking to me) is being used as a way to vent their frustration with me and inform my behavior. Frustration Boner 

When something is so frustrating, and you cannot possibly grasp it that it gives you a frustrating boner. It could be a math question that you can't wrap your head around, a tag on the back of your boxers that won't stop itching, etc.
