A Punk-Rock band from Rochester, NY that plays loudly and occasionally smashes guitars on stage. Ex members of Koo Koo Boy, Drama Queen, Puddle, Bang-Abuse, K-9 Circle and The Pants.

Doug: What's going on this weekend?
Phil: Well, there's a cover band at that place by the lake or The Gowns are playing at that scary place in the city.
Doug: Oh - I saw them last time and my ears are still ringing - I almost got hit by a flying guitar pickup!

In The Gown 

When you would much rather be sleeping or plan to be asleep.

The meaning comes from the old timey act of wearing a sleeping gown to bed.

Referring to being tired / ready to be asleep.

“The party STARTS at 9:45, I’ll be in the gown! No way I’m going to that shit!”
