To play songs by Genesis (preferably when Peter Gabriel was in the band) to annoy people. Famously used on Richard Hammond in Top Gear.

Person A: Richard Hammond won't leave my house, what do I do?
Person B: Try Genesising him.
Person A: Alright. (Plays Watcher of the Skies)
Richard: Oh God not Genesis! (leaves)

To give a simplified definition of the genre of a piece of art, especially (but not limited to) music.

"It's electronica."
"Don't you mean it's post-hardcore apocalyptic punk indie synth pop?"
