WAN Party 

Just like a LAN party, but over a wide area network.

Nerd 1: D00d you gotta come over for a LAN party. I'm getting so good I'll rip you faster than those new icore processors calculate digits of pi.

Nerd 2: I'm in Chicago this weekend for the RAM and SSD Expo. But don't worry, we can still have a WAN party.

WAN Party 

Similar to a LAN party, a group of gamers will bring their computers and/or game consoles to a single location, but instead of playing against each other on the LAN, they team up and play against randoms on the Internet. Usually involves superfluous amounts of caffeine, junk food, and swearing.

Nerd 1: You wanna LAN this weekend? I'll bring the vodka if you bring the Red Bull

Nerd 2: This weekend is Double XP on COD, can we do a WAN party instead?
