A trustmark is any emblem, seal, symbol or icon intended to quickly establish trust with prospective customers or other audiences online. Some common examples are the Norton security trustmark, the Better Business Bureau trustmark, and the TrustedSite trustmark, which are often seen on e-commerce websites.
The British government is planning a governing body charged with making digital identities “as trusted as passports” by augmenting their legal status and introducing trustmarks for digital identity products from private sector providers.
