A filipino expression of dread. Can mean "Oh no!"
Can also be used in shock or surprise, often with something negative or astounding.

"Hala, nasira yung tv!"
meaning "Oh no, the TV's broken!"
"Hala! Umuulan na!"

meaning "Oh! It's raining!"
