SCWAG
Scientifically Calculated Wild Assed Guess. An estimate calculated using sound mathematics and science which is, never the less, little more than a wild guess. Generally because one or more of the components of the calculation is a wild guess or loose estimate.
The Drake Equation (an estimate of the number of intelligent civilizations in the universe) is a SCWAG.
