A 'crapophonic' (crap-o-phonic) speaker is sometimes built into budget audio equipment. Sometimes it is used in professional equipment as well in order to provide an alternative to headphones.
The speaker is of poor quality and delivers a barely acceptable output, but is adequate in professional equipment to audition the sound.
Can also be applied to built in microphones in some equipment.

The Marantz recorder has a crap-o-phonic speaker built in. This enables you to audition the sound you have just recorded - however, you would not enjoy full reproduction, or want to endure its output for long.
The crapophonic microphones did the job in an emegency, but good, purpose built plug in microphones would have been better.

Get the Crap-o-phonicmug. Some one who has a small head for their body size. Also can be characterised by a small jaw and/or large ears. Obviously, some one with a small head, receeding jaw and large ears can be described as "piphead extremis".
While watching the TV we noticed that the presenter was a Piphead. The more we looked the more obvious it became.
