Hot-Chicked

Hot-Chicked

(verb) hot-chicked; hot-chicking

The phenomenon in which a person purchases, subscribes to, upgrades, or agrees to a product or service they did not need, intend to buy, or adequately evaluate, primarily because the sales representative was exceptionally attractive.

A person who has been hot-chicked may temporarily abandon normal purchasing judgment, overlook price or necessity, agree to unnecessary upgrades, or sign a contract unusually quickly—only to realize later that the salesperson’s attractiveness played a greater role in the decision than the actual value of the product.

Example:
“We already had a vendor and weren’t looking to switch, but their sales rep came in and somehow we signed a three-year contract. We got hot-chicked.”

The Hot-Chick Test

Ask yourself:

“If the exact same sales pitch had been delivered by someone I found completely unattractive, would I still have bought it?”

If the answer is no, you probably got hot-chicked.
