Janahan (pronunciation: Jan-AH-han) is an ancient Tamil word from the Karma Sutra from the terms Jana (meaning sex) and Han (a shortened word for God).

Tamils were noted for their influence on regional trade throughout the Indian Ocean and their religious practice was governed by Gods, also referred to as (loosely translated) Denmark Kings. Janahan was one of seven gods in the multi-discipline of skills. He is known to be the first historical religious figure to have a same sex marriage with Sabbir, the God of Contrariness. Interestingly he was considered to be heterosexual despite the relationship and ancient texts often refer to a feud amongst the Tamil and Denmark gods originating between Jesse, a God known for the “technological advancements” of his time and the 4 desirable maidens over which they fought.
