an Expat, usually a male older retiree, who retires overseas and spends most of his days and nights at bars and pubs.

Scotty, a widowed retired engineer from Scotland, is a BarPat, spending 16+ hours per day at his favorite bar in Pattaya, moving only to go to the Loo or going home. He is a VIP at his favorite bar, losing many games of Connect 4.
