The origin of nuts came from General McAuliffe in world war 2 at the battle of the bulge in Belgium. In 1944 mid-December, a German commander requested the "honorable surrender" of General McAuliffe and his troops to which General McAuliffe sent the German commander just the word "NUTS!" which also means "go to hell."
To the U.S.A. Commander of the encircled town of Bastogne. "There is only one possibility to save the encircled U.S.A. Troops from total annihilation: that is the honorable surrender of the encircled town."
