A final opportunity to accomplish something, usually after previous unsuccessful tries or else no previous opportunity at all.

This will be the coach's last kick at the cat to win a championship; he's retiring after this year.

miracle

A term used by Deadheads back in the day, meaning a ticket to a show given as a gift to someone outside the venue who has no ticket. Usually given randomly by a stranger. Taken from the Grateful Dead song "I Need a Miracle."

DWD

Driving While Driving. Refers to being pulled over by a cop for no good reason, either because said cop is just an asshole or for the purpose of issuing a ticket so the municipality can collect revenue. St. George, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb, is notorious for the latter. And the former, too, for that matter.

Stay out of St. George at all costs. The cops are lurking everywhere and love to pull people over for DWD.

FABULOUS FURRY FREAK BROTHERS

The subject of hilarious underground comics circa 1970. The Freak Brothers, along with their contemporary Doper Dan, were hippie slackers whose only ambition in life was to get stoned. It is advised to be very stoned when reading these publications.

After getting stoned out of my mind, I fell on the floor laughing and yelling 'author!' 'author!' after reading the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.

The audience of a Grateful Dead show. A spoof (although not meant to be cruel) of "Jerry's Kids" for whom the Jerry Lewis telethon is held.

When the Dead were in town, all the fast food joints were filled with Jerry's Kids.
