acronym for Punjabi-American, different than the diaspora "Indian or Desi." Inspired from the "Sher" or Singh title of honor from traditional regions. Denoting distinctly North or South Americans with Punjab heritage or ancestry.
Punjabi-Americans or those with Punjabi ancestry are colloquially known as Pumas, affectionately.
