Hello or Goodbye. A contraction of the Italian greeting 'ciao' and the American greeting 'howdy'.
Usage developed in Ticino, the Italian speaking canton of Switzerland.

adams ale 

Water - esp a non-alcoholic beverage. Consumed in bars by people who have to operate heavy machinery, aircraft etc or by wowsers.

Tim: My shout guys, what'll it be?
Kiera: Just an Adams Ale for me, I'm skipper tonight.
