grease

Petroleum based pomade used to style the hair. Favoured less in recent times due to all manner of modern waxes, hairsprays amd gels but still de rigeur amongst the swing, rockabilly, and greaser fraternities.
Can be used to create anything from a slicked back 1920s look to a 1950's pompadour.

Have you got any grease? I'm going Lindy Hopping tonight and I want my pomp to look right.

prole

From "proletarian" meaning wage-earner or worker. The shortened version being a derogatory term used by the middle and upper classes to deride the working class majority.

Oh Tarquin, look at those wretched proles. Set the hounds on them.

Savoy style

The original form of Lindy Hop, the partner dance that accompanies swing jazz.
So named because the pioneers of the dance, such as Frankie Manning and Whitey's Lindy Hoppers, were regular dancers at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem.

Those cats are crouching too low for Hollywood style, they must be doing Savoy style. They're really swingin'!
