Someone who tells you not to think about anything negative in life is pretentious.

The most cynical people in the world preach about hope, optimism, and a positive attitude about everything in life. Hope is what weak, pretentious people cling to when they have nothing left but desperation to overcome anything and anyone left.

Cockroach man/girl and his/her pals silverfish man/girl, termite man/girl, and flyman/girl infest a building until bad guys either call an exterminator or get caught, but they also do the same thing to the good guys.

A bunch of people laying in the grass can't be up to anything good.

Which of the snakes in the grass were king snakes and which ones were copperheads? You don't always know by the shape of their heads like the reptilians on the side of the road.

Someone who is the true master in the master/slave relationship.

He/she would become a puppet master if the puppet didn't resist.

Introvert 

Someone who considers things that are hidden or not obvious deep.

The introvert was not just considered fun, but stimulating to be around by enough people that he/she was called the toast of many a party. It was never obvious that he/she was an introvert, so people who were not like him/her were considered shallow by the introvert and his/her closest relations.

Joke 

There are people who go as far as to think you're egotistical and not just uptight if you don't laugh at their joke. They literally think if you don't think everything they think is funny is just as funny, that you don't know how to live. There are people who like golf, and there are people who think golf is bullshit.

There are people who will never laugh at the joke you just told, they have their reasons. You don't have to see how or why they think the way they do.
