Verb: To use the wrong eating utensil at the wrong time: for example, using a knife to drink one's smoothie. Oftentimes, to schlenk at a fancy dinner party can result in being thrown out, and/or can bring a sense of shame that can last for days. To prevent schlenking, one can buy or make a Schlenker (see noun: Schlenker).
Helen: "Notice the way that stableboy schlenks at the dinner table. How absolutely dreadful."
