When you choke, ruin or bottle some activity or test. It is usually used in a negative sense, to indicate despair and failure. Mostly used in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Odisha

Hukumdev: Tumhra angrezi wala paper kaisa gaya
Mulayam : Condom hoi gawa. Kucho samajh main nahi aya.

Kantap

A slap below the ear lobe that manages to remove the taste from your mouth. Usually used in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India.

Little Ravi: I will not go to school today.
Ravi's Mom : Get ready quick or I will give you a Kantap.
