The perforated, detachable edges of a roll of printing paper, or the fold-away three-way detachable edges of a printed mailing to be unfolded (fold & tear, etc.)

Tiresome and trivial debate involving endless quiddities (I heard an angry Lesbian activist use this at a Gay Activists Alliance meeting in NYC, early 1973, and have enjoyed employing the expression myself since then).

A lot of pussyfooting damned nonsense. I heard this dyadic expression once only from an exasperated Lesbian at a business meeting of the Gay Activists' Alliance at the Firehouse on Wooster St. in NYC in December 1972 or January 1973.
