The Earth's most recent epoch, one marked by an explosion in the human population along with all which will likely come with it:

-Deposits in the Earth's strata coming from such products & byproducts as plastics, concrete, asphalt, metal alloys, radioactive and other toxic wastes as well as everything else added by our modern industrial and post-industrial civilization.

-Climate change

-What will likely be the Earth's 6th largest mass extinction

In just two centuries, we humans have wrought such vast and unprecedented changes to our biosphere that we actually might be ushering in a new geological time interval, and will alter the planet for millions of years.
Zalasiewicz, Williams, Steffen and Crutzen contend that recent human activity, including stunning population growth, sprawling megacities and increased use of fossil fuels, have changed the planet to such an extent that we are entering what they call the Anthropocene (New Man) Epoch.

First proposed by Crutzen more than a decade ago, the term Anthropocene has provoked controversy. However, as more potential consequences of human activity -- such as global climate change and sharp increases in plant and animal extinctions -- have emerged, Crutzen's term has gained support. Currently, the worldwide geological community is formally considering whether the Anthropocene should join the Jurassic, Cambrian and other more familiar units on the Geological Time Scale.

A particular area within an MSA but outside the central city where a particular ethnic group (nearly always an immigrant group) has decided to settle.
An ethnoburb is a suburban residential and business area in North America with a notable cluster of a particular ethnic minority population. The term was first coined in 1997 by Dr. Wei Li, then assistant professor of Geography and Asian American Studies at the University of Connecticut, in a paper examining the suburban Chinese population in Los Angeles (County,) California.1 Ethnoburbs emerge for a variety on reasons, in combination or as separate entities. These include significant changes in world politics and economy, policy changes in the United States' national policies, and demographic shifts in individual or in local connecting neighborhoods. These communities have substantial external connections to the globalised mainstream economy, leading to higher socioeconomic levels in its residents. An ethnoburb functions as a social hub and a place where immigrants may work and do business within their own networks. The formation of ethnoburbs also have an effect on the cultural and political characteristics of a city. In (MSA)s such as the San Francisco Bay Area, Vancouver, and Toronto, and in the San Gabriel Valley in California, for example, Chinese immigrants have built large houses and malls catering to Chinese businesses, changing the landscape of these and a significant number of smaller communities throughout the USA

Or the 0Xs, is the decade that begins in the year 2000 and ends in the year 2009. The zero refers to the decade and the X refers to an unknown or generalized number or year between 0 and 9.
This term is Used as one way to avoid confusion with the 2000s (Two-Thousands or 2XXXs) which describes the period between 2000 and 2999; and the Twenty-Hundreds (or 20XXs), which describe the period between 2000 and 2099.
The 200Xs will probably be remembered for the musical genres of Crunk and Emo the way the 90s were remembered for Grunge and (the sort of techno music played at) RAVEs; the 80s for New Wave, Hair Bands, and Old School Hip Hop; the 70s for disco and the 60s for Psychadellic.

A neighborhood of Paducah Kentucky that serves as it's Art's district. It borders downtown to the southwest. Thanks to the Artist Relocation Program, artists from places as far as Hawaii, San Fransisco and Paris France have settled there givinig the city of Paducah hope of having a rennaisance.
I'd move to Lowertown, but it's too close to the New Madrid Faultline.

What the state of West Virginia was first refered to apon becoming a state, but they chose West Virginia instead, overlooking the fact Virginia juts out about 50 to 70 miles west of WVA. Kanawha is the name of the river that cuts through the state all the way to the Ohio and which begins in the western North Carolina mountains.
It is also the name of the largest county, where the capitol is located, as well as it's airport.
Not only should the name of the State be changed back to this, but so should the capitol city, Charleston, to "Kanawha City."

Birthplace of Brad Dourif the voice of Chucky from Child's Play
Also the birthplace of John Nash Jr (a Beautiful Mind was based on him, he won a nobel peace prize in 1994)

The film version of "Silent Hill" took place here.

Dr. Hunter "Patch" Adams, a holistic doctor, founded the "Gesundheit!" Institute in the Hillsboro area of this state.

Daniel Johnston grew up here

Others
Steve Harvey, Jennifer Garner, Bob Denver (Gilligan), Don Knotts, Chris Sarandon

Also home to the annual Mothman festival (held in the the town of Point Pleasant where the Kanawha River feeds into the Ohio), and it's namesake , as well as the alien robot refered to as the flatwoods monster or the Braxton County Monster.

Most of the Stained Glass in the USA comes from this state.
They should have ket the name Kanawha. It's much more original and much less confusing. Same thing with the Capitol City of "Charleston".
