People who most of the time have money, or can at least afford expensive things. Most of the time they are popular and greatly despised by thosed that just don't fit in with them. Called snobby and cocky a lot, but most of the time aren't even that way.

Girl 1: Gosh, I hate preps
Girl 2: Umm why?
Girl 1: Because they think they are cool
Girl 2: You've never even talked to one, so how can you say that?
Girl 1: Because everyone knows they are
Girl 2: Obviously everyone knows wrong.
