drop

Horsemen's term for a rider falling off, as in the horse "dropping" the rider. It does not imply that the horse intentionally removed the rider, but rather that the rider fell through his own lack of skill.

Melissa was having a good round till Sparky dropped her on the last turn.

common

Used by horsemen to describe a horse that is bad-tempered or recalcitrant. Slightly more perjurative than cow, with which it is sometimes combined.

Watch out that Sparky doesn't bite you -- he's such a common piece of crap.

Used by horsemen to describe a horse that is clumsy, untalented, or difficult to work with.

You're never going to win at the horse shows on that cow.
