adj, n. American. To the left of the Atlantic Ocean. The term is typically used to qualify variants of the English language or its speakers. Common in alt.usage.english, where it may have originated.

Contrasted with "right-pondian". The rarer "under-pondian" is also sometimes used.
Those left-pondian words are quite ludicrous indeed!

adj, n. Australian. May have originated in alt.usage.english as complement to the more common terms "left-pondian" and "right-pondian".
Many under-pondian terms aren't used anywhere else.
