Boat Ride

Also known as a "Tank Job", this term refers to the practice of a district attorney putting on a show trial for the public in prosecuting a criminal, without any real intention of convicting or sending them to jail. This defined by Charles Stoker, in "Thiker'n Thieves", 1951.

Americans were taken for a boat ride by James Comey in his investigation of Hillary Clinton.
