A description of a situation or an action that is surprisingly opposite to what was expected it to be, when in the first place it was supposed to be opposing something.

We new he was angry & will try to cancel the meeting, but he played it opposite on opposite, to everyone's surprise, and called everyone personally to come to the meeting.
